I grew up (26+ years ago) going to the Norwalk store as a "treat for some reason." I remember digging in the $5 treasure bin because I could get so many beads. My mom always set a budget for me and I always left kicking and screaming.
In 2011, I moved to Tucson and was exposed to the Gem and Mineral show...I bought a ton of stuff and didn't use it, primarily because I didn't know how and felt uninspired.
I moved back to the area and was thrilled to see Beadworks in Fairfield!!!
As a novice, I would go in and poke around, see things I liked. In June of 2016, I had major spinal cord surgery that laid me out for 5 months.
In preparation for that I purchased a variety of things to keep me busy.
I didn't realize that my recovery would be so intense, but after I became mobile...I was in beadworks daily. I had so many questions about gemstones, techniques, problem resolution, etc.; and the team there was always willing to help me understand where I went wrong and what I needed to do instead. I often just sat there beading and listened to their advice and techniques. I have met some of the most inspiring and incredible people there, just by sitting at the front table and working on projects (that I don't have the self-discipline to finish at home). Some of these people have become VERY good friends.
I give a huge shout out to Maggie, Briana, Amy, and Hannah. Thanks for all your advice and assistance! Fairfield is LUCKY to have you!
I say that because after living in Tucson, AZ and going to the shows & being able to purchase whatever I wanted at the shows...I was never as inspired until I met you! Much Love!!!
