Chris Garcia-Rivera

I should have been an easy customer- I know what my car needs and already lost my morning getting jerked around by Pep Boys. Showed up at 10am and was greeted before I went inside, gentleman asked what I needed and I said right rear shock, alignment and to have them see if the noise in my rear end is a bearing or brake issue. He asked me to leave my keys and he'd call with an estimate in a little while. I never got a call from anyone, so at 2:30 I checked to see what the status was. I was told they were trying to find a strut assembly for my car so it's cheaper for me, and he would call right back. Let me add that I know it's not a rare part, every parts store in the area has it in stock. 4:00 comes around, no call. At 4:30 I call to see why it's been so long. I get put on hold and then hung up on. I call back again and am told they will need to call me back. I get a call at almost 5:00 with news that "we found your strut assembly and it comes with a new mount(! Oh joy, it must be magic- I know it does) and will be installed with alignment for only $616.00 I said- oh that's for two in the rear and not just the one? Then he tells me that's for one COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED STRUT AND SPRING PLUS LABOR. You're joking right? The identical part is on sale at Advance Auto for $185. So approximately two plus hours of labor to bolt on a quick strut? After waiting 6 hours for a price? I said no thank you and I'll be by to get my keys. When I got there, I was tossed the keys without a word. My carpet is filthy with boot prints and my steering wheel is greasy. And nobody bothered to road test or check for the noise. Avoid like the plague. No respect for customer's intelligence or time. The feeling is mutual!
