I went into Putnum Bank this morning seeking a notary public. Upon my inquiry, the teller said yes, and asked me if I was a customer or had an account. I said no, I just moved to the area. The teller said she was pretty sure they didn't notarize documents for non-customers. Then she went to an office and asked, "We don't notarize for non-customers, do we?"
Ok. I can accept the fact that Putnum Bank will only notarize for ACCOUNT HOLDERS. Great. Isn't every person walking into a money making, service oriented establishment a customer? Instead of being treated as a customer and possible FUTURE ACCOUNT HOLDER, and told "No, I'm sorry. We only notarize for account holders. Would you like to set up an account?", I was treated to some negative customer service. And I will not go to Putnum Bank again. Thank you.
