After being informed I was going to lose my hair after starting chemotherapy I was at a loss on what to do. The cancer center where I'm receiving treatment recommended the Wig Gallery, based on the experiences of other patients, and I couldn't be happier. Losing your hair is a devastating experience during an already difficult time, but the Wig Gallery made it a little easier. Vincent doesn't charge a sitting fee and takes the time to show you around the gallery and offer suggestions on what you might like. He suggested a wig that allows low heat (enough that a low setting curling iron or blow dryer can be used on the wig). The strands are individually connected to a mesh netting, allowing air to get in and out, keeping things cool. I still wasn't sure how comfortable it'd be since we were fast approaching the hottest months of the year. After three months (including June and July) I couldn't be more pleased with how light weight and comfortable the wig is. Even in 90+ degree weather my head doesn't feel hotter than if I still had my own hair. The nape of your neck is the only part that gets hot (just like if it was real hair)! Because of the individual strands you actually see your own scalp while wearing the wig, another bonus on picking this type out. People have no idea I'm wearing one, until I tell them. I highly recommend coming here - you won't regret it!
